They both pay 5 percent interest currently.
(The interest rate varies.)
You can take money in and out whenever you like.
(But it takes one business day to process.)
“Money market” funds are Not insured by the FDIC.
But they are essentially 100% safe.
I put my own money in a Vanguard “money market” fund.

In contrast, CDs are FDIC insured.
But usually you have to keep your money in CDs for a fixed period of time.
